Difficulties in life provide wonderful opportunities for awareness and growth

Rather than viewing distressing emotions, physical symptoms, relationship conflicts, etc., simply as ‘problems’, these can be seen as pathways toward greater self-understanding and personal growth, eventually leading to a more fulfilling life. Through self-inquiry we learn to listen more deeply to our hearts, our minds, and our bodies. By becoming aware of new perspectives for understanding our life circumstances, we can move beyond perceived limitations, to reach our fullest potential.

The Center for Integrative Therapy offers a variety of mind and body approaches to help clients achieve their goals

Psychotherapy for adults, couples, teenagers and children, helps people cultivate new perspectives, and see more possibilities for change and acceptance, in their present circumstances. We use a variety of techniques to help clients reach their possibilities, emphasizing self-relations psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, body-based therapies, and mindfulness awareness practices. Common issues include: Anxiety, depression, stress management, grief/loss, relationship issues, life transitions, career issues, parenting issues, health/wellness.

Bodywork Therapy is a hands-on therapy and education, for healing injuries, and fostering greater relaxation to relieve stress. Sessions integrate Body-Mind Centering, CranioSacral Therapy and Massage Therapy.

Dance/Movement Therapy is the psychotherapeutic use of dance/movement to promote individuals emotional, cognitive, physical and social integration. Sessions cultivate a range of expression from a contemplative state of mind, to a creative dramatic enactment, depending on the clients need.

Workshops integrate movement, the body and the mind for increased access to awareness. The workshops explore a variety of approaches including, Body-Mind Centering, Authentic Movement, Mindfulness Practices, Psychotherapy, Expressive Arts Therapies, and yoga.

Meditation is the practice of bringing a new quality of attention to ones thoughts, sensations, and feeling as they arise in each moment. We integrate mindfulness and other contemplative practices in our individual therapy; as well as teach meditation in session if requested. We also lead group meditation classes and workshops, at our center, and throughout the community. The ability to learn to work more effectively with our thoughts and emotions through meditation can provide for deeper and more sustainable integration of psychotherapy.
